Zen Habits

What a gorgeous day it is. Sunny, warm, nice easy breeze blowing, the mountains are beautifully green and the ocean is a bright blue. Went shopping, filled up on some yummy produce then hit Target for a literary refill. I have a strange need to have three to four unread books adoringly batting their eyes at me from my nightstand. Okay, so I have a seriously odd thing for books. I picked up No One You Know by Michelle Richmond and Walking in Circles Before Lying Down by Merrill Markoe. At the moment I am re-reading Harry Potter, Half-Blood Prince in preparation for the July 15th release of the film. I can't wait

Then a quick trek to the beach which ended much sooner than I wanted but a tad too crowded for me. I'm okay with a horde or two but wall-to-wall blankets and towels is just too much. So, no photos from the seashore for me today. Maybe I'll give taking pics of the fireworks a go tonight. We'll see.

I completed a few more layouts. I've been browsing through the challenges over at Pixel Canvas and I love it there. If you haven't had a chance to stop by, be sure to make time cause it is definitely worth it. Very artistic. Here's mine..

I'm back, baby!

Wow. I’ve been away for a few days and the world seems to have completely changed while I was gone. The early departure of Michael Jackson deeply saddens me. I don’t remember a time when MJ wasn’t a part of my life. ABC was the first song I remember hearing from The Jackson 5 in 1970, I was 14 years old. My very first concert experience was at The Shrine with J5. I danced, roller skated, cried, cruised and who knows what else to MJ songs. I miss him already. Sorry to see you go MJ.

Tomorrow is my daughter’s 1 week anniversary. Hard to believe a week has passed already since the wedding. The day seemed to have flown by, all the prep, all the excitement, all the stress. It was a gorgeous event, sunny and warm. Lauren looked absolutely stunning and so very happy. My daughter is a married woman now. So hard to believe, when did she grow up?

Her dog-sitter bailed out, so I made the 3 hour journey to spend a bit of quality time with Rudy and Sadie. Love them, enjoyed the time I spent with them, and with Lauren and Mike but there is definitely no place like home.

I have tons of photos to scrap, I want to do an entire from first gown shopping to honeymoon album for them. Maybe I’ll have it finished by their first year anniversary.

Wow.

The wedding was wonderful and she looked absolutely breath-taking. I'll update more next week as I'm off to Riverside to babysit my granddogs. That's a whole other story.

I know I haven't updated in awhile, I just have tons of irons in the fire at the moment. Lauren's wedding is in two days so, I'm a tad stressy. I've extremely thankful she did not want a huge wedding and that she's a teacher therefore has the entire summer off. Makes it much easier to get all those last minute goodies done. I still need to pick up a pair of shoes to match my dress but other than that, I'm good.

Last night I finished up 5 layouts so I'm pretty much caught up with that. There's a few more I'd like to get done before tomorrow but I don't see that happening.

I seem to have messed my blog up and need help putting it right. I've been thinking about hiring someone to design a blog template and blinkie for me, I'll pay of course, for sometime but just never put out the request. Now, I am.
